no way two patches in a year



Human AI Macro Update


for the uninitiated, the warcraft 3 melee ai language is a bunch of "user-friendly" API which conceals a lot of what the functions actually do. there are no debug logs, so if anything breaks, the whole script will, and both of these combined make for a hellish programming experience.


excuses aside, the human ai now has massive macro improvements, such as


  • being able to train from multiple barracks at the same time

  • maintaining good macro while teching

  • deciding what comp to go for (non-adaptive)

  • improved build order

  • spreading workers across their bases evenly

  • protects their bases with towers properly


yeah, only Ws in the chat. because of this, their economy was tuned to be much more similar to the player. for example, peasants now mine 5 gold with no penalty instead of 10 plus a penalty.


Human AI Combat/Unit Changes


  • Heroes training time increased from 45 to 60

  • Heroes base HP decreased from 200 to 100

  • Buffed: Priests (Heal/Inner Fire), Flying Machine

  • Nerfed: Riflemen (range upgrade), Knights, Gryphons, Guard Tower


  • archmage blessing now grants hp and mana, no longer reduces damage. now affects priests too

  • paladin blessing now grants additional 2 armour. now affects priests too

  • bloodmage blessing now correctly affects flying machines, no longer decreases hp

  • king blessing now affects gryphon riders too


General Changes


  • added unbuildable terrain to ramps cuz the ai would often block themselves with their buildings.

  • Spellcaster attacks now deal magic damage (makes sense no)


Curator Force


  • wildkin and green dragon moved out of regular production structures.

  • buildings now all have 5 base armour. notable buff is towers gaining 5 armour (was 0)

  • air units all gain +3 armour per upgrade, base armours adapted, hp decreased.


Chimaera

  • damage decreased from 65 to 54, damage type from normal to magic


Faerie Dragon

  • celestial faerie renamed to faerie dragon.

  • curators blessing changed to benevolence, which halves manacost for faerie blessing.

  • faerie blessing from +2 armour/+5(+5) hp regen to +3 armour/+5 hp regen.


Gnoll Enchanter

  • natural energy new upgrade which improves aspd and mspd by +25%/+25%.

  • rejuvenation from 480+240 over 12 seconds to 700 over 7 seconds

  • elderwood treant hp increased from 600 to 750, manacost from 200 to 300


Wildkin Oracle

- max mana increased, mana regen increased, manacosts increased. The intended effect is for wildkin to ramp up to be strong.


Green lizard

  • attack range decreased from 900 to 750


Defiled Swarm


snap dragon

  • damage decreased from 29 to 24


Exalted Order


  • buildings now have overall higher mana, lower hp, and lower mana regen. Buildings are tankier overall. Notably, buildings under construction have 0 mana, making them more fragile during construction. lower mana regen also makes attrition more effective.

  • sorceress and priest trainings now grant hp and mana as well


Archer

  • attack type from normal to pierce

  • no longer needs arcane fountain


Emissary

  • attack type from pierce to chaos, damage decreased to compensate


Crossbow

  • attack range decreased from 1200 to 900 (this was a typo in previous patch)

Hyperion cannon

  • attack range decreased from 1000 to 800 (this is a nerf)


Grand magus

  • now correctly has arcane implosion

  • divine revelation now improves slow and cripple instead of aoe. base aoe is now the previous upgraded amount (450).


Priest

  • new spell: dispel magic, replacing Neutralize.

  • Concord manacost increased from 50 to 75.

Sorceress

  • Arcanite attack deals more damage but more mana cost.


Fallen Conspiracy


  • fire elemental self damage increased from 10 to 13 hp/s

  • ghost units base armour decreased. This is to create a pseudo resistance towards spell damage.


Harbinger

  • ruination now cant target buildings.

  • death mark threshold decreased from 40% to 30%.


Bugfixes


  • town centre upgrades were negative cost due to misunderstanding

  • fuschia dynamo also had the same problem

  • town centres now repair normally

  • detection fixed for exalted


aaaaaaaaand thats it


game feels better to play now due to the ai feeling more fair in the way they operate. new map coming next patch!
